Throughput Challenges
A regional hospital system is experiencing throughput inefficiencies, leading to an overcrowded emergency department and increased length of stay. Propose an operational solution to lower length of stay and how it would address a root cause of common throughput barriers. Discuss how you would measure the success of your interventions, ensure their sustainability, and gain staff buy-in over time.
Adopting AI in Healthcare
As the leader of a task force exploring Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration in a hospital system, your goal is to implement AI solutions in a specific department — clinical or otherwise. Select a department of your choosing and outline why adopting AI is important, what processes it would aid with, and why delaying implementation would be detrimental.
Candidates must either finish their master’s degree prior to the start of the fellowship or be entering a required third year fellowship necessary to complete a master’s degree. In either case, applicants must be from a healthcare management program, business administration program, or related field of study.
The Community Health System fellowship is a one-year rotation- and project-based program.
