Dr. Michael J. Moffett has been a practicing oncologist and hematologist for over 30 years and is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology.
Dr. Moffett completed his fellowship training in critical care, medical oncology and hematology. His first interest was trauma and intensive care, but he switched to oncology once he realized how much he enjoyed interacting with the patients and families going through a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
This same passion is evident in his efforts to help improve the healthcare system. In 2013, he applied to be part of a special project with Medicare called the Oncology Care Model. This is the first project Medicare has done in oncology to help improve quality while reducing costs to patients. His application was just 1 of 12 selected in the state and 1 of 190 in the country.
Dr. Moffett also has intense passion for fitness and sports, including running, hiking and cross country skiing. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, four adult children and two dogs.

“It is truly a privilege to be allowed to walk with the patient through this journey. Once you are diagnosed with a serious illness, you often find yourself in a system that can be very confusing. Our #1 job is to make sure the patient gets what they need when they need it, and to ensure they’re not just another number.” — Dr. Moffett
