Dr. Li Lisa Ge is board certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine, with nearly 20 years of dedicated experience in the field of oncology. She started her medical journey with residency at Lenox Hill Hospital's Internal Medicine program, affiliated with New York University Medical Center in New York City. Following this, she honed her skills further by completing a Hematology & Oncology Fellowship at the State University of New York Stony Brook University Hospital on Long Island, NY, where she also earned a master's degree in molecular and cell biology.
Before joining Community Health Partners, Dr. Ge played a pivotal role at Women’s Cancer Care in Fresno, CA. Prior to that, she spent more than a decade at University of Minnesota Cancer Care, where she spearheaded the development of the community oncology service line, expanding it from its nascent stage to encompass five locations in the greater Twin Cities area. During this time, she held the position of Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and was actively engaged in various committees.
Dr. Ge's devotion to breast cancer care became apparent during her years practicing in community oncology. She was a driving force in establishing a national accreditation program for breast centers (NAPBC) and assumed the role of site program director. Dr. Ge is a proud member of prestigious medical organizations such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the American College of Physicians and the Minnesota Society of Clinical Oncology. She is deeply committed to providing personalized care tailored to each patient's unique needs and cherishes the moments when she can reconnect with former patients.
Recognizing the emotional depth of breast cancer, Dr. Ge treats each patient as if they were family. She feels honored to be entrusted by her patients during this vulnerable time in their lives. Breast cancer is such an intimate and dynamic disease that calls for not only intricate medical expertise, but also emotional, physical and spiritual support. Dr. Ge feels deeply privileged to be trusted by her patients, their families, and friends to be their partner on this profound journey. In her spare time, Dr. Ge enjoys a range of activities including music, cardio dance (like Zumba), yoga, gardening and immersing herself in nature with her college-age son and their beloved cockapoo, Frankie.
