Community Health System is thrilled to announce a historic endowment gift. To help support Terry’s House, an anonymous donor has given $2.5 million to sustain the facility in perpetuity.
Terry’s House is a home-away-from-home for families with critically ill or injured loved ones at Community Regional Medical Center. Since its opening in 2011, it's provided a safe, comfortable haven for more than 9,600 families from all 50 states and more than 30 countries.
Terry’s House has 20 private guest rooms. Families have access to amenities including a community kitchen, laundry facilities, a children’s playroom, a business center and a meditation space — basic necessities that mean the world when people need to stay close to their loved ones in the hospital.
“This endowment will ensure that we can continue to operate Terry’s House for families in need. The only thing a family should worry about during a difficult time is their loved one,” said Craig Wagoner, President & CEO of Community Health System.
While choosing to remain anonymous, the donor shared they have witnessed Terry’s House's impact and the difference it makes to families in crisis.
“We are incredibly grateful for the donor’s vision and transformational philanthropy,” said Katie Zenovich, Senior Vice President, Development and External Affairs and Chief Fund Development Officer. “Terry’s House runs solely on donations, so every contribution is deeply appreciated. This generous gift has made a major impact on its future."
